Who we are
JJJ Venture Enterprises, LLC (operating as WATTsun) ("we") operates WATTsun and is the data controller for personal information processed through the service. Contact: support@wattsun.app.
What we collect and why
- Account data (name or display name, email, hashed password) — to create and authenticate your account. Legal basis: contract performance.
- Home configuration (address or ZIP, location, solar array specs, batteries, EVs, utility, billing rates, priorities) — to compute your daily solar plan. Legal basis: contract performance.
- Usage logs and daily plans (timestamps, computed plans, manual logs) — to provide history and trends. Legal basis: contract performance.
- Uploaded utility bills — to extract rates and run AI analysis. Legal basis: contract performance.
- Telemetry (errors, request logs, IP, device/browser, AI usage counts) — to operate the service, prevent fraud, and improve reliability. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Tesla/inverter integration tokens, when you connect them — to fetch live home energy data. Legal basis: contract performance.
- Support correspondence — to respond to you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Who we share data with
- Paddle — our Merchant of Record for sale of WATTsun, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing. Paddle's privacy notice applies to the payment data it collects directly from you at checkout.
- Hosting and database providers (Lovable Cloud / Supabase) — to host the application and store your data.
- AI providers (via the Lovable AI Gateway) — to run bill analysis and insight features. Uploaded bill content is sent to the model only to generate the analysis you requested.
- Weather and geocoding providers (Open-Meteo) — to fetch forecasts for your location. We send coordinates only, not your identity.
- Tesla, when you connect a Tesla account — token exchange and energy reads occur directly with Tesla's API.
- Authorities, when required by law.
Data retention
We retain account, home, log, and bill data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. tax records).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. Email support@wattsun.app and we'll respond within 30 days. EU/UK users have the right to lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority.
Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and row-level security to limit access to your data. No service can guarantee absolute security; you're responsible for keeping your credentials safe.
International transfers
Our hosting and AI providers may process data in the United States and other regions. Where transfers from the EEA/UK occur, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Changes
We may update this notice; material changes will be announced in-app or by email.
